MYBURGH - M1

M1_001c.jpg

capsule & tube

The M1 incorporates a German made Mylar M7 capsule manufactured by Siegfried Thiersch and a Russian military grade long life tube.

amplifier &
transformers

The M1’s amplifier has an incredible linear frequency response with minimal cut off below 30Hz or over 20kHz. With two custom built transformers; one in the mic and another in the power supply, the amplifier design, combined with the German made capsule and the new capsule headbasket design give the M1 its unique sound.

noise floor,
output & SPL

The M1 also has a super low noise floor, a monster output and handles SPL like your favourite FET kick drum mic does. Variable polar patterns and true cardioid is a main feature.

"What's better than an M1? Two M1's! One of the greatest mics around, the Myburgh M1. Still blows my mind how great a mic this is. A new classic."

“I sang all the vocals on the album on this beautiful thing. Chose it over a Neumann u47, u67 and m49. All in pristine condition. Absolutely amazing mic.”

benchmarking the vintage greats

Through our development phase we benchmarked extremely well maintained original U47 and U67 microphones. These microphones were also used for the recording of our comparison files.
